Who is responsible

This site is run by its founder, personally, under the names Lead Your Own Life and Reprends ta vie. I am responsible for what happens to your data. No data protection officer is required for processing of this size, and none is appointed. For anything about your data, write to hello@reprendstavie.com.

What is collected, and when

Nothing, until you type your email address into a form on this site. Then: your address, which product you asked for (a guide, the journal, the workbook or the app), and whether you ticked the news box. Giving your address is not a legal or a contractual requirement. It is simply the only way to send you what you asked for, and nothing else on this site depends on it.

The form is handled by MailerLite, which also records the IP address the form was sent from (and the approximate location it derives from it), the moment you signed up, the page you signed up on and, if you arrived through one of my links, which link. The emails carry no open tracking (no invisible image); click tracking cannot be switched off in MailerLite, so it records which links you click.

Reading these pages leaves the usual server logs with the host, Cloudflare: IP address, time and page requested, used only to keep the site up and secure. There is no analytics script, no advertising pixel and no tracker on these pages. No decision about you is ever taken automatically, and you are not profiled.

What it is used for, and on what basis

Delivery: to send you the guide or journal you asked for, or to tell you when the workbook or the app is ready. Legal basis: your consent, given when you submit the form.

News: an occasional email when a guide or a video comes out, only if you ticked the box. Legal basis: your separate consent. The box is never pre-ticked, and not ticking it does not stop you receiving what you asked for.

Server logs: a legitimate interest in keeping the site secure.

Who has access

MailerLite Limited, 88 Harcourt Street, Dublin 2, D02 DK18, Ireland: the email service (my processor) that stores the list and sends the emails. It stores the data in data centres in the European Union and works with its own sub-processors, Google Cloud EMEA Limited (Ireland) and Vercom S.A. (Poland), listed in its data processing agreement. That agreement also provides for transfers to its US parent company, MailerLite, Inc., under the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses; write to hello@reprendstavie.com for a copy.

Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA: the host (my processor). It keeps the site’s server logs and routes the mail sent to the contact address. This can involve processing outside the European Union. That transfer is covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and by Cloudflare’s certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, two safeguards set out in its data processing addendum. No one else. Your address is never sold, rented, or shared for anyone else’s marketing.

Videos

No video is loaded when a page opens. What you see is a still image stored on this site, and nothing is requested from YouTube until you press play. When you press play, the player loads from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, which Google says stops that view from being used to personalise YouTube or the advertising you see elsewhere. Google does not say that this mode stores nothing: once the player has loaded, Google can store data on your device and process it under its own privacy policy, which can involve transfers outside the European Union. If you would rather it did not, don’t press play.

How long

Your address stays on the list until you unsubscribe, ask for it to be deleted, or three years pass without any sign from you (a click, a reply). Once a year I go through the list and delete those addresses. Unsubscribing stops every email at once. Server logs are kept by Cloudflare only as long as it needs them to keep its network secure; this site has no access to them and cannot keep them longer.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data held about you, correct it, have it deleted, receive it in a file you can take elsewhere, restrict or object to its use, and withdraw your consent at any time, from the unsubscribe link in any email or by writing to hello@reprendstavie.com. Withdrawing your consent does not undo what was done lawfully before you withdrew it. You will have an answer within one month. If the request is complicated I may need up to two more months, and I will tell you inside the first month if that happens. You can also complain to the CNIL (cnil.fr) or to the data protection authority in your country.

Cookies and storage

This site itself sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. YouTube may set cookies after you press play.

Children

This site is not aimed at people under 15, the age from which someone in France can consent on their own to a service like this one, and their addresses are not knowingly collected.

Changes

When this page changes, the date below changes with it.
